Frequently Asked Questions

  • An LPC-Associate is a fully trained and licensed counselor who is completing supervised post-graduate clinical hours under a board-approved supervisor. All of my work is supervised to ensure ethical, high-quality care.

I am currently working under the supervision of Gina Rodriguez, LPC-S, LMFT-S.

  • Therapy is a collaborative process that begins with getting to know you, your goals, and what’s bringing you in. Early sessions focus on building safety and understanding patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships.

As therapy continues, we work together to explore past experiences, develop coping tools, and increase self-awareness and self-compassion. The process is flexible, paced to your needs, and regularly adjusted to support meaningful, sustainable change.

  • At this time, I am private-pay only. However, I can provide a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

  • Sliding scale fees may be available based on current caseload capacity. Sliding scale rates are provided as a time-limited option. We will review this arrangement every three months to ensure continued availability and to remain mindful of others who may be waiting for reduced-fee services.

If the standard or sliding scale rates are outside of your financial ability, you are welcome to reach out for referrals to low-cost or community-based counseling services.

  • Cancellations or reschedules require at least 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged the full session fee.

  • The pace of therapy looks different for everyone and depends on your goals, needs, and current life circumstances. For most clients starting out, I typically recommend meeting weekly to build a strong foundation and gain a clear understanding of what brings you to therapy.

At certain points—such as during heightened stress, life transitions, or crises—you may benefit from sessions that occur more frequently or extend beyond the standard 50-minute timeframe. Any adjustments to session length or frequency are collaborative decisions made with your well-being and therapeutic goals in mind. As you grow and gain tools, sessions may shift to biweekly or as-needed, based on your goals.

  • That’s completely normal. Many people feel unsure or anxious before their first session. You don’t need to know exactly what to say—just showing up is enough. We’ll go at your pace.

Please schedule a consultation call and I will be happy to answer any other questions or concerns you may have.
